The annual Gold Coast Careers Festival is the largest and most comprehensive careers event on the Gold Coast and one of the largest in Queensland. The Gold Coast Careers Festival brings together educators, high schools, students, parents, career advisors, prospective students and job seekers in an interactive and dynamic environment. Explore over 60 education and training providers including Griffith University, Bond University, Southern Cross University, TAFE Queensland and many others. The Gold Coast Careers Festival is open to the public and best of all – it’s FREE! You don’t need to register, just head along to the venue for your opportunity to speak to over 60 exhibitors, including some of the city’s biggest employers. Join us for the 2021 Gold Coast Careers Festival to speak with some of our great Gold Coast educators and employers about your career! The Gold Coast Careers Festival is presented by Study Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Beach Parade

Gold Coast Beach Parade

Gold Coast Beach Parade – is a new world record attempt for the greatest number of people (men, women and children) in koala ear visors involved in a beach parade. It will be held on Sunday, 16 May.

It’s time to support your local community, be social and meet new people by volunteering at this amazing event. To learn more about the festival, click here.

Beach Marshalls Volunteers are needed to assist with people, directing and answering questions. Our beach parade participants will walk in single file and in these COVID times, we need everyone to stay socially distanced and we need your help in ensuring this is done in a fun, encouraging and good-natured way. If you are confident, like to be involved in community events, enjoy being outdoors and want to help save the city’s Koalas – this volunteer role is for you!

Times and dates:

– Saturday 15 May at 4.30 pm – 5.30 pm: Volunteer Briefing, T-shirt collection and site familiarisation;
– Sunday 16 May 10 am – 1.30 pm: Gold Coast Beach Parade.

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers. From Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd May 2021, NVW will celebrate the significant contribution of Australia’s almost six million volunteers. Each year these volunteers dedicate over 600 million hours to help others.

The theme for NVW 2021 is Recognise. Reconnect. Reimagine. which acknowledges that it is time to: 

  • RECOGNISEcelebrate and thank volunteers for the vital role they play in our lives. 
  • RECONNECT to what is important by giving our time to help others and ourselves.
  • REIMAGINE how we better support volunteers and communities they help.

Blues on Broadbeach

Blues on Broadbeach

19 years after its humble beginnings, Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival has grown to become an event of international standing. Each year the festival remains a highlight on Queensland’s calendar of events with its location fast becoming one of Australia’s premier entertainment hubs.

Volunteers (Blues Crew) will be working across the festival zone to assist visitors with their experience at the festival taking on the following duties:

– assisting visitors check-in via the ‘Check in QLD’ App (or complete a sign-in form if unable to check-in digitally)
– providing and assisting with wrist-banding visitors once they have checked in to the festival (across 3 dedicated locations)
– assist and manage queues at check-in and merchandise locations ensuring social distancing
– providing information and directing visitors to key areas including check-in points, stages, merchandise
– greeting visitors in the public seating areas and assist seating and supporting flow within these dedicated seated viewing areas

Briefing to be conducted with Volunteers on 19 May which you will be required to attend.
4 – 6 hour shifts between the hours of 8am to 10pm.
