The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality systems and frameworks that manage all compliance obligations for Volunteering Gold Coast, taking a proactive approach to analysing, and managing the company’s risk exposure and looking for continuous improvement opportunities. This position will over see all compliance reporting and functions including the corporate risk register, probity check process and be the gate keeper for all VGC’s policies and procedures, ensuring all operations are compliant with governing legislation. Reporting to the CEO, the Quality Manager will provide advice around continuous improvement opportunities to improve business effectiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES Operations Excellence
– Implement, maintain and improve a Total Quality Management System that meets VGC’s requirements.
– Manage the development and ongoing maintenance of all internal policies and procedures, in alignment with the review cycle and internal approval pathways.
– Lead the development of a culture of continuous improvement across VGC, through meetings and processes aligned to the TQMS.
– Deliver an approved program of compliance reporting across VGC that celebrates achievement and applies continuous improvement practices to address gaps and create cultural change.
– Oversee efficient and accurate execution of VGC’s Probity Check process, ensuring VGC obtains confirmation of mandatory certifications or qualifications held by the employee required by the governing body or legislation, prior to commencement. Effect practice change by providing advice / information in a manner that engages the organisation to evolve.
– Lead the development and ongoing management of the Corporate Risk Register, providing insights and analysis to the organisation’s decision makers.
– Stay up-to-date with industry, governing bodies (i.e. NDIS) and legislation updates relevant to VGC, flagging any impacts on internal operations with the CEO.
– Operate as a business partner to all areas of the organisation, supporting areas across VGC to embed TQMS principles in their business areas.
– Maintain confidentiality in all dealings associated with VGC and its stakeholders.
– Undertake ad hoc reporting or other tasks as reasonably requested by the CEO.
– Act as the complaints officer for VGC.
LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE
– Work across the organisation with senior members of VGC and the CEO to deliver volunteer programs that showcase VGC’s purpose and values as a Volunteer Involving Organisation (VIO).
– Manage the Quality function to ensure all operations and projects are on track and adhere to reporting deadlines and the strategic plan.
– Strengthen VGCs culture of continuous improvement through leadership actions, communication, meetings and projects.

– Exercise a duty of care to ensure actions don’t negatively impact the health and/or safety of others or self in the workplace.
– Ensure that anything provided for health and safety is not wilfully or recklessly interfered with or misused.
– Ensure compliance with any of the company’s WHS policies, procedures and any reasonable instruction given by the company.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Education, qualifications and licenses
– Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role.
– A Current Driver’s Licence.
– Working Rights in Australia.
– Current Police Check.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
– Experience in Quality & Compliance and internal audit.
– Excellent knowledge of and ability to interpret compliance requirements, legislation and currentbusiness practices.
– Experience in writing and maintaining internal policies and procedures.
– Strong leadership and collaboration abilities with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written skills with internal orexternal stakeholders.
– Ability to build rapport and communicate with a diverse range of people and organisations.
– Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
– Able to work in a team and /or autonomously with minimal supervision.
– Strong attention to detail and experience developing executive-level quality & compliance report.
– Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
