VGC Member Description

In response to a shared recognition that the health needs of vulnerable young people were not being addressed on the Gold Coast, three organisations (The Family Planning Association, Gold Coast Drug Council and the Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth) successfully applied for funding from the Youth Health Policy Unit of Queensland Health to establish a youth health service. As a result, YHES House has been operating in Southport since 1994.

Volunteering Gold Coast acknowledges and pays respect to the land and the traditional families of the Yugambeh region of South East Queensland, and their Elders past present and emerging.
