National Volunteer Week 2022

Together, through volunteering, we are changing communities for the better. We are, Better Together.

This week we celebrate all our amazing volunteers for National Volunteer Week 2022. This year’s theme is; Better Together. Together through volunteering, we are changing communities for the better.

See below for how we are celebrating this years National Volunteer Week.

Milestone Awards and Volunteer Recognition

It was such a nice day at the Gold Coast office to commemorate all our amazing volunteers, especially the milestones they have reached here at VGC.

We have some volunteers that have been with us for over 15 years now and we are so appreciative of the effort and time they give to their community.

All volunteers that have volunteered with VGC in the past year and have reached important year milestones were awarded and acknowledged for their time and effort with VGC.

It was also exciting to celebrate our 50,000 assisted volunteer, Rick Smith.  You can read all about that amazing milestone here.

Flood Appeal Volunteer Lawn Bowls

On Tuesday the 18th of May, we hosted a fun game of evening lawn bowls with awards and food for our amazing flood appeal volunteers.

These volunteers put up their hand when QLD and NSW needed it most and helped communities with food, basic supplies, cleaning and honestly just being there for emotional support too.

It’s so hard to repay volunteers especially when they’re so humble but we think it’s important to acknowledge and thank those who do so much for others.

The night was enjoyed with a few games of lawn bowls before our CEO Brad Cooper presented awards to volunteers with our board member Alex Woodthorpe. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and making new friends along the way.

Volunteer & Ambassador Profiles

We love getting to share the amazing work our volunteers do in our community and get to know a bit about them in the process.

All these volunteers give up their time so selflessly and embody everything great about volunteering work. Although we wish we could profile everyone, here are just a few of the amazing stories and profiles which you can read here.

Volunteer Recruitment Donation from Ray Stevens

Volunteering Gold Coast would like to acknowledge the kind donation made by Ray Stevens MP who visited our offices today.

Thank you for supporting the local community during this important week. We are truly grateful.

Study Gold Coast Panel for Volunteer Week

We had a great morning with Study Gold Coast celebrating with their Student Volunteers and participating in the Better Together Panel. And of course, waving our appreciation to all the volunteers everywhere!

An amazing panel that consisted of our very own CEO Brad Cooper, Student Engagement officer Ken Dinh, Volunteer Wynnr De Castro, and Mariel from Super Max & Bryce.
