Nominations Are Open for the 2020 Gold Coast Volunteer Awards
Volunteering Gold Coast is excited to be hosting the Gold Coast Volunteer Awards again in 2020 to celebrate National Volunteer Week – 18-24 May.
The awards ceremony will include a Gala Dinner held on Friday 22 May 2020 at HOTA. This is the second year that VGC has organised the Gold Coast Volunteer Awards.
“The Gold Coast Volunteer Awards aims to recognise and award volunteers and community organisations for the tremendous work they do for the community over the last 12 months,” said Simon Nugus, CEO of Volunteering Gold Coast.
“Last year’s awards was a huge success; we received over 100 nominations from all inspirational and driven members from the community. We are expecting this year to be even bigger and more moving,” said Mr. Nugus.
Nominations are now open for the following categories:
- Gold Coast Volunteer of the Year
- Gold Coast Youth Volunteer of the Year (under 10)
- Gold Coast Community Organisation of the Year
- Gold Coast Community Project of the Year
- Gold Coast Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year
- Corporate Social Impact Award
This year VGC has created a new category, Corporate Social Impact Award, giving Gold Coast organisations a chance to showcase their community initiatives and connect with local not-for-profits.
“Corporate organisations can create a huge impact on the community through providing support and resources. We want to see what organisations on Gold Coast are doing to support the community and create social impact,” said Mr. Nugus.
Nominations will close Friday 17 April 2020 and are open to everyone on the Gold Coast. Nominations can be submitted at www.volunteeringgc.org.au/goldcoastvolunteerawards.
