Community Transport and COVID-19

Our measures to protect our clients, staff and the community

Volunteering Gold Coast takes the recent outbreak if Coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously. On top of our current safety measures, we taking extra precaution, and following all Government guidelines, to ensure the safety of our clients, staff and the community.

Our Safety Measures

Extra Vehicle Cleaning

All VGC Transport vehicles are fully equipped with hand sanitiser, antibacterial wipes and spray. Drivers are required to be extra vigilant and clean all surfaces inside the vehicle in between client pickups.

Staff Hygiene

All VGC staff and volunteers must follow correct handwashing techniques and other hygiene practices. All staff are also required to report any flu like symptoms to management and self isolate for 14 days if they, or someone they’ve had contact with, return from overseas.

Social Distancing

To adhere to directives on social distancing, all clients are asked to be seated away from the driver and other clients. No clients will be allowed to be seated in the front seat unless under extreme circumstances.

Your Cooperation is Appreciated

To protect our staff and other clients, we will ask you if you have been in contact with anyone who has returned from overseas upon you transport booking. We also ask you to report any flu like symptoms you may be experiencing.
