Community transport is a key enabler of participation and inclusion for people living with a disability. As an NDIS Transport provider and a QCC Transport provider, Volunteering Gold Coast has developed innovative transport services to meet the needs and preferences of people with a disability.
How we approach disability transport
We have partnered with the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation to provide an oncology transport for cancer patients. This invaluable community service enables patients to attend scheduled appointments without the burden or stress of figuring out how to get there.
Volunteering Gold Coast Transport Services provide a reliable, professional cancer treatment transport to the Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, Gold Coast Private Hospital and ICON. There are three vehicles running from 6.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
For Those Aged 65 and Over: Our community transport services are available for individuals aged 65 and over. To access this service, you need a referral from My Aged Care, which is the gateway to government-funded aged care services. Call My Aged Care at 1800 200 422 or visit www.myagedcare.gov.au to register and get your referral.
For People with a Disability: Please contact us to complete a Service Agreement for NDIS participants. If you are not an NDIS participant and have a chronic illness, mental health or other condition, Volunteering Gold Coast is funded by the Queensland Government to support you to access your community by providing transport services to and from a range of locations. Please contact us to confirm your eligibility.
Gold Coast Hospital Foundation Oncology Transport: To refer yourself or a patient, please call us at 07 5526 5288 for more information.
“I don’t have a car and I’m unable to use public transport. Your service allows me to get to appointments at a cost I can afford!
Thank you so much.”
