Presented By Mona Hecke – Naturopath. Specialises in holistic, nutritional approaches to health. WORKSHOP OVERVIEW Health Educator and Author Mona Hecke is dedicated to sharing the message about the importance of nutrition and the role it plays in Healthy Ageing and the prevention of chronic disease. Mobility, independence, cognitive function and social engagement are all important aspects of ageing gracefully and in this workshop Mona will share with you the strategies you can apply now to help you live a long happy life with energy and vitality. Dietary tips, recipe ideas and food tasting will all be part of the morning forum. Mona offers practical solutions in a very hands on approach that can be implemented into any home, school or office. There are healthier solutions to our modern world problems and it all begins with consuming wholesome, nutrient dense foods that promote vitality and longevity. Reducing stress, exercising and achieving our ideal weight all contribute to a positive mental attitude, confidence and the ability to achieve lifelong goals. WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:
Provide Participants with the knowledge to confidently perform CPR and receive a Statement of Attainment – Provide CPR HLTAID001

  • Principles of first aid, legal issues
  • DRSABCD emergency action plan
  • Infectious diseases and hygiene
  • Management of unconscious casualty
  • Airway Management
  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) – adult, child and infant
  • Understanding the use of an AED

It is recommended that participants have a sufficient level of physical ability (to undertake activities on the floor), literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course.

Training and assessment is conducted in a friendly classroom setting that reflects a real emergency environment.

Workshop – Conflict Resolution and Effective Communication @ Volunteering Gold Coast

PRESENTED BY: Tom Stodulka LLB, Grad Dip Strategic Studies and Grad Cert Mediation graduated in Law at Sydney University in 1974. For the past 25 years he has specialised in mediation, having mediated over 4000 disputes throughout Australia. Tom has national accreditation in Australia, India, PNG and Hong Kong and is a coach and an assessor at several Universities, the Australian College of Law and the Resolution Institute. He is an inaugural panel member of the Australian Mediation Association and Director of the Australasian Dispute Resolution Centre. In 2013 he was the winner of the Resolution Institute Award for Excellence in the Practice of Dispute Resolution. In 2014 he was made a Fellow of the Resolution Institute and was nominated for the 2017 National Mediator of the Year Awards. He was recently appointed a Fellow of Bond University and is the winner of the 2019 Mediator of the Year Australasian Law Awards.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:
As 2019 Mediator of the Year I look forward to sharing some insights into my life and passion for assisting people in conflict to move forward and resolve some issues. Finding common ground and a better way forward is not easy as the world has become much more complicated and stressful.

I try to stay focused and always stay positive and hopeful. To this end I have written my first book of poetry Storm Clouds and Silver Linings-My Journey: www.tomstodulkaauthor.com

My second book is due to be out before Easter and will be titled Life is a Dance-Some Thoughts of a Peace Maker.

In addition to reading some of my poems I will discuss some skills used in mediation and how the process and one’s inner heart and soul can make a good mix in my work.

Tanja Turner is a Digital Business Consultant, Trainer, Blogger and Podcaster who supports individuals and small businesses in using technology.
Her passion is empowering women in small business by teaching and training them in Business Administration, social media, resume writing, podcasting, Microsoft Office software and blogging.
She is known on social media as TanFromAus. Tanja was recently invited to Google as a result of her contributions to Google Maps, where she has had over 14 million views of her work.
She has won numerous awards for her work in technology and education and has held the position of chair of the Girls in ICT committee.
She is based on the Gold Coast, Queensland where she received her original qualifications of formal education and holds a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education, and Master of Education in Information Technology.
