Surf World: Volunteer Retail and Museum Assistants
Surf World is a unique cultural institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of surfing.
Retail/Museum Duties: Greet visitors and provide exceptional service in retail shop by assisting with merchandise sales, maintain cleanliness and organisation of the retail/museum area, process transactions accurately using Point-of-Sale system and assist in inventory management including receiving, unpacking and pricing merchandise. Monitor exhibit areas in museum to ensure safety and security of artifacts/displays especially in peak times. Basic Computer skills and willing to undergo training.

Riding for the Disabled: Horse Based Activities
No experience is required but a level of fitness is essential.
There are some fantastic volunteering opportunities, including: Lead walking – leading the horse during the lesson; Side walking – walking alongside the horse providing support for the rider; Carriage work – assisting with the carriage riding program; Stable work – assisting our capable staff with caring for the horses. We will provide training and hours are negotiable. Centrelink approved.
Pindara Private Hospital: Volunteer All Rounder
We seek happy, friendly volunteers to assist in delivery of tea/coffee to patients in the day infusion centre, concierge work, collecting and collating Theatre packs and some filing. No computer work.
The volunteer needs to be flexible to work across all duties in their shifts and commit to their weekly schedule. Patience and confidentiality are paramount and we are looking for empathetic happy people to join our team. Coffee and tea is served to patients in the Day Infusion Centre. Concierge duties include meeting and greeting patients and escorting them to operating theatres and wards. Also assisting staff in collecting and collating files into Theatre Packs and other administrative tasks.
BlueCare Southern Gold Coast: Friendly Visitors
Would you like to make weekly visits and provide companionship to clients in our aged care residences? They benefit so much from these visits and enjoy friendly contact and conversation.
Volunteers are asked to commit to weekly social visits and provide companionship to clients. Good communication skills and the ability to listen are essential. Visits could include: chatting, catching up on the news, games, craft, reading a book or newspaper. Visits may also involve some gentle hand pampering/massage. Applicants should also enjoy the company of elderly people, have some understanding of the aging process and possess a good sense of boundaries and confidentiality.
Thriving Multicultural Communities: Community Support Worker
TMC’s Settlement Engagement Transition Support (SETS) program requires a Chinese-speaking volunteer to engage with Chinese-speaking migrants. This role involves supporting TMC team with form filling, interpreting and occasional translation of simple documents.
This volunteer role is ideally suited for individuals who are looking to build their work experience in the community sector, including people who are undertaking studies in Community Services or Social Work.
