Meet Griffin Light-Law, our 2023 Youth Volunteer of the Year. 15 year old Griffin is a young individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities through his passion, talent, and enthusiasm for music. At the age of 11, he began volunteering his time as a music mentor for other young people through the Youth Music Venture program. Since then, he has dedicated countless hours to volunteering for the Youth Music Venture and the Currumbin Primary School (CPS).

Griffin’s passion for music has been evident from a young age. He is highly skilled in the field of music and has used his talent to help others by volunteering his time to teach young musicians how to read and play music. His involvement with the CPS has been consistent for the past four years, where he has volunteered for four hours every week. His unwavering commitment to volunteering for the betterment of others is nothing short of remarkable.

Through his involvement with the Youth Music Venture program, Griffin has been able to inspire and mentor other young people. He has helped them develop their musical skills and has encouraged them to pursue their passions. His dedication to volunteering has not gone unnoticed, and he has been recognised for his outstanding contributions to the program at the 2023 Gold Coast Volunteer Awards where he was awarded Youth Volunteer of the Year.

Griffin’s consistent, weekly involvement as a volunteer for the past four years is critical to the success of the students he works with. He has helped them develop their musical abilities and has provided them with a positive role model to look up to.
